Accessibility statement
The standard we work to on this website and in the DiveHQ app, what we do to meet it, what we know falls short, and how to tell us.
01The standard we work to
We aim for this website and the DiveHQ app to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Staff use DiveHQ on a phone on a moving boat as often as at a desk, so much of this is also what makes it usable at all.
02What we do
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip past the navigation.
- Text and controls are coloured for at least AA contrast against their background.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are written next to the field they belong to and announced to screen readers.
- Menus close with the Escape key, and the phone menu and dialogs keep focus inside them while they are open.
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Icons and illustrations that carry no meaning are hidden from screen readers; those that do have a text alternative.
- Pages reflow to a phone’s width without scrolling sideways.
03Known limitations
- The product screens on this website are illustrations. The words around them describe what they show.
- The handwritten notes on this website are decorative and are not read out; nothing you need depends on them.
- This statement is our own assessment of the website and the app.
